The Thursday 457 service from Gislingham to Stowmarket will continue to run as normal.

Leaves Diss (bus station) 1.15pm - Arrives Gislingham 1.46pm

The memorial bench for Geoff Laurence has now been installed on Charity Meadow, and was officially unveiled on Monday 22nd November 2021 by Geoff's widow Jo Laurence.
Simon Bell attended on behalf of GUC, as well as Jane Challis Clerk of Gislingham Parish Council.
We very much hope that residents will enjoy using the bench.

Watson Bowl and 'Volunteer of the Year' Awards 2020
For the first time since the award was started in 1984, the Watson Bowl 2020 was awarded to a team of people: the Messenger Community Magazine Team.
Councillor Julie Bell, Chair of Gislingham Parish Council, presented the award to Jeff Norman who was invited to collect it on behalf of the Messenger team.
In addition, Gislingham Parish Council have created a new award in recognition of voluntary work within the village. The first 'Volunteer of the Year' award was presented by Councillor Julie Bell to Martyn Bryant in recognition of his work as Gislingham Footpath Warden throughout 2020.

If you receive a call from this number, 01223 200 3310, do not answer, it is a SCAM! They are pretending to be HMRC, and will tell you that you are under investigation and need to press 1 on your key pad to avoid prosecution.
There are similar SCAMS pretending to be Amazon, and also the NHS offering COVID jabs, both asking you to press 1 on your key pad again.
DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS, OR HANG UP IMMEDIATELY
Residents witnessing any anti-social behaviour in the village are requested to telephone the Police
directly to report the incident, giving as much detail as possible including the location.

The Bus Service from Gislingham to Stowmarket will run as usual until
the end of March 2021.
The route will then be reassessed.
