St. Mary's Parochial Church Council

  • History of St. Mary the Virgin Church

The Parochial Church Council works with the priest in charge of the South Hartismere benefice, the Reverend Julia Lall, to promote within the parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. The P.C.C. also has maintenance responsibilities for the church building and church grounds.

Church services are held as follows:

Family Communion at 10.30 am on the first Sunday of the month - a service for all ages using an easy to follow service sheet

Songs of Praise at 6.00 pm on the second Sunday of the month - an informal service when we sing hymns chosen, in advance, by the congregation.

Holy Communion, a traditional service, on the third Sunday of the month at 8.30 am

Cafe Church at 10.15am on the third Sunday of the month in Gislingham Village Hall a service that appeals especially to younger children and their family.

The P.C.C. also organises a number of fund raising and social events throughout the year.
